Procrastination (Article Marketing Part III)

This might sound like a strange title in a blog like this. Actually despite the fact that I consider myself a fairly disciplined person, I observe this trait in me. Not always, but right now.
As you might know I like writing and I like sharing my knowledge, means I love to write educational material. When we came back to  the section "writing", and the topic article marketing came up, I started to procrastinate. I put it aside, then thought doing it tomorrow and then it was obvious, I did not want to do it at all.
In the end I managed and the first part about Article Marketing was written. The same happened with the part two and sad to say now with part 3. The good thing is that I am aware of. The bad thing is I do not know the cause.
The same easily can happen to you! You do not need to do article marketing! There are many other ways to make money online. It just fits nicely into the whole picture, or it is good if it is part of the structure of your business, because of the long term effect it can have.
What can we do if we encounter a problem as such?
We can

  • find a work around
  • outsource this section
  • find the cause
For short term the first two work fine. But if you have a problem with procrastination in general, it makes sense to find the root cause!
OK, lets leave the field of psychology and go back to article marketing.
There is a difference if you just want to write a number of articles to support your online business, or if writing articles becomes you online business.
In both cases it is very helpful, if you plan your campaign.
Advertisements agencies plan a campaign and sh should you:
  • What is your goal
  • Which product will you promote (choose one per campaign)
  • how many articles do you want/need
  • write down the titles
  • write down the keywords (check their validity first)
  • writing style (casual, technical, funny)
  • deadline for submitting
If you have more than one URL, also note which URL you promote with which article! That might seem funny, but if you have 10 products and 100 articles book keeping becomes essential!
If you have a means of tracking, I suggest you do so. As long as you are not very experienced, you need to control the effect of your writing. It easily can happen that you favor a different style in writing. If you find out a certain style gets more referrals and more readers, you easily can adjust!
OK I want you to write and submit 3 articles within the next week! And let continue building our own successful online business!
